Understanding Credits
Taleva uses three types of credits: Profile Credits, Contact Data Credits, and Export Credits.
All credits are shared across your organization — when any team member uses a credit, it counts against your team's total pool. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. On yearly plans, you receive 12× the monthly amount upfront.
Profile Credits
Profile credits represent market mappings — each time you search a specific angle of the market, Taleva's AI evaluates hundreds of candidates against your criteria. Because of the significant computing power behind each mass evaluation, profile credits are how we meter this usage.
Taleva has two search modes, and both draw from the same pool of profile credits:
- Classic mode — you build the search yourself with filters and criteria.
- Agent mode — you describe who you're looking for in a conversation, and the Agent builds and runs the search for you.
In both modes, a search costs 1 credit per profile shown in your results, up to 250 per search. Think of it as paying to explore one angle of the market: a specific role, in a specific location, with specific requirements. Where the modes differ is how refinements are charged.
Classic mode
You start the search yourself and refine it by editing filters and AI evaluation criteria on the results page.
Free refinements per search. Getting a search right often takes a bit of tweaking, so every Classic search includes free adjustments:
- 1 free filter adjustment — edit your search filters (location, industry, seniority, etc.) and re-evaluate at no extra cost.
- 2 free AI evaluation adjustments — edit your evaluation criteria (what the AI prioritizes when scoring candidates) and re-evaluate up to 2 times at no extra cost.
After the free adjustments. Once your free adjustments are used up, any further refinement is charged as an additional search (up to 250 profile credits). This also resets your AI evaluation adjustment counter back to 2, giving you room to keep iterating.
Note: A charged filter adjustment resets your AI evaluation counter back to 2. A charged AI evaluation adjustment does not restore your free filter adjustment.
| Classic mode action | Cost |
|---|---|
| Start a new search | 1 credit per profile shown (up to 250) |
| First filter adjustment on a search | Free |
| First 2 AI evaluation adjustments on a search | Free |
| Further adjustments after free ones are used | Charged as an additional search |
Agent mode
You refine by talking to the Agent: ask it to adjust something and it runs an updated search for you.
- First search of a conversation — full price, exactly like a Classic search: 1 credit per profile shown, up to 250.
- Every refinement in the same conversation — half price: 0.5 credits per profile shown, up to 125 per refinement.
Starting a new conversation starts a new search at full price. If you adjust an Agent search manually on the results page instead of through the conversation (filters, AI evaluation criteria), those adjustments follow the same free-adjustment rules as Classic mode.
| Agent mode action | Cost |
|---|---|
| First search in a conversation | 1 credit per profile shown (up to 250) |
| Each refinement in the same conversation | Half price: 0.5 credits per profile shown (up to 125) |
| Manual adjustments on the results page | Same free-adjustment rules as Classic mode |
Always free, in both modes
| Action | Cost |
|---|---|
| Scrolling, viewing details, notes, tags | Always free |
| "See More" to reveal additional results | Always free |
Contact Data Credits
Contact data credits are consumed when you reveal a candidate's contact information (email or phone number). Each new reveal costs 1 credit.
What does NOT cost contact credits
- Re-viewing a contact you already revealed — once revealed, it's free forever.
- Viewing a contact a teammate already revealed — reveals are shared across your organization. If anyone on your team has already revealed a candidate's contact info, it's free for everyone else.
- Reveals that return no data — you are only charged when contact information is successfully found.
Export Credits
Export credits are consumed when you export candidate profiles (CSV, PDF, Word, or to an ATS). Each new profile exported costs 1 credit.
What does NOT cost export credits
- Re-exporting a profile you or a teammate already exported — once a profile has been exported by anyone in your organization, exporting it again is free.
Credit Limits by Plan

Business plans have custom credit amounts configured by the Taleva team.
Common Questions
When do my credits reset?
Credits reset on your billing cycle date each month. Yearly plans receive all credits upfront at the start of the year — they don't reset monthly but are consumed over the year until annual renewal.
What happens when I run out of credits?
You'll see a message explaining which credit type is exhausted. You won't be able to perform that action until your credits reset or you upgrade to a higher plan.
Can I share credits with my team?
Yes. Credits are pooled at the organization level on all plans. All team members draw from the same pool.
Can I upgrade mid-cycle?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. You'll only be charged the prorated difference for the remainder of your current billing period.
